Really, really good. Sleek design, very high quality material feels. The info tainment control knob has a good heavy feel with solid “clicks”. The screens are very high quality and remind me somewhat of the Tesla screens in the clarity of the image. I legitimately didn’t want to get out of the car. I was instantly at home and could see being in it everyday. The seats were quite comfortable as well, with a nice balance between bolstering for performance and wider more comfortable feel. Didn’t sit in the rear seats but it looks like there is plenty of room. The trunk is absolutely enormous for a vehicle that size. All in all I was very impressed. The dealership still doesn’t have any dates on when they will be receiving the hatchbacks or when the Sky activ X would be dropping. I will definitely be reporting on the hatch once I get the chance to drive it.

I felt the same way. When I was at COTA I spent a solid 20 minutes sitting in the new 3 flirting with the marketing woman (she was great btw, plz call me). Neither if us wanted to get up. Seats are comfortable, sound system' s great, it's fantastic all around.

My dealer already has hatches, a few manuals too. I’d guess SkyActivX will be a 1 1/2-2 years out knowing Mazda. Remember what they said about diesels

When I bought the 6, the salesman mentioned that while Mazda didn’t want to abandon their sporting roots, they’d felt that marketing around their unique approach to handling was not winning them buyers in the current market. Their solution was to simply improve the interior quality of their cars from 2018 on and market themselves as an entry-level luxury brand...essentially, Acura with Honda pricing.
A good friend of mine who bought a 2014 6 was floored by the difference in the interior and dash when he first sat in my 2018. “This is nicer than the MDX we just bought!”
If it keeps Mazda solvent while they remain independent, and their cars still have that Mata-like steering, then more power to them!
